Meet Fidget, our pawesome new mascot!

Fidget the cat is joining us just in time for our Charity Partnership with AFC Bournemouth, and will be attending their home games this season!

The name Fidget was chosen from lots of wonderful suggestions that were received from our service users.

The decision to have a cat as our mascot was influenced by the book ‘All cats have Asperger Syndrome’ which draws inspiration from the feline world and brings to life familiar characteristics of individuals with Asperger’s, a form of autism. These characteristics include sensitive hearing, particular eating habits, and scampering away at the first sign of being stroked. The book is a light-hearted introduction into what life can be like for some people with a diagnosis.

Fidget will be out and about very soon, wearing an Autism Wessex t-shirt, so be sure to say hello! (or meow!)

We're looking for volunteers to wear our mascot costume at the AFC Bournemouth Home Matches, click here to see the list of fixtures and register your interest!
