We are supporting Alexis Quinn, who this afternoon is handing in a petition to Boris Johnson at Downing Street, aided by the National Autistic Society.

In 2012, Alexis was detained in various psychiatric hospitals and an Assessment and Treatment Unit under the Mental Health Act, for over 3 years.

Alexis has autism and has recently created a petition to stop the use of inpatient units and to safeguard the human rights of vulnerable people.

Inpatient units go against the principles of our care, education and support, working with people in their own communities. Her petition received over 200,000 signatures.
