“No sooner have we emerged from the lockdown period, it seems we are now to address a further period of uncertainty. I can only reiterate my immense gratitude and pride in the way our exceptional teams of people, across all services, continue to rise to this challenge unabated. There are so many examples of colleagues who have gone to extreme lengths for our people’s safety and care; and for our children’s learning and I wholeheartedly thank each one of them.

We have proved to be extraordinarily resilient. Our four foundations, designed to focus minds and unify our approach are as evident and as meaningful now as they were in March.

We must address this next period as a catalyst for growth and development, with the aim of securing our future way beyond this unstable moment in time. Our intention is to improve our standards of education and support, deliver new services and to build on opportunities, conditions and careers for our team members across the charity.

Now is the time to concentrate our efforts on the opportunities we see for the future, whilst remaining diligent about the task at hand. We continue to focus on being prepared and ever more alert for this next six months, following guidelines cautiously without detriment to the effective running of our services.

We take very seriously our duty of care to our children and adults, to our team members, and to you, our valued supporters. The implementation of the latest protocols is underway, and we continue to meet regularly to stay abreast of government guidance.

Our services remain fully operational to all those we support, providing enviable care, support and learning. We will address the next six months with determination, care and confidence gained from your strength and support, and that of our volunteers, families and staff.

Wishing you a safe and healthy weekend.”
