After three years as our Vice-Chair of trustees, Martin James has retired from his role as Trustee.
Martin joined our board of Trustees in November 2017, bringing extensive expertise from the human resources field. This experience allowed him to provide insight and oversight to many initiatives within the charity not least: the introduction of a confidential feedback line for employees, developments in remuneration and recognition and the move to a digital HR platform. Martin distinguished himself as a judicious steward of our charity and was always available for a consultation on a wide range of issues. To think through issues. His stalwart support of the team and colleagues was always delivered with a smile and in the most caring way possible.
We all will miss him and wish him the happiest retirement.
Special thanks from our Chairman
“Martin and I joined Autism Wessex Trustee Board on the same day, from day one his knowledge, skills and energy was in abundance.
When I was appointed as Chairman, I was so pleased that Martin accepted the role of vice-chair, where his expertise has helped the Senior Management Team mould Autism Wessex into the excellent charity it is today.
His drive and calming influence, along with his knowledge, will be greatly missed by everyone".
