We are delighted to announce that our Big Brekkie campaign to mark World Autism Awareness Day has raised over £6400 for our Information and Advice Service.

Supported by celebrity chefs Lesley Waters and Mat Follas and Ambassador Harry Redknapp, this year's campaign has seen businesses, schools, cafes and members of the community across the region host breakfast events throughout April. As well as spreading awareness, supporters have raised vital funds for our Information and Advice, which supports thousands of local people affected by autism.

Fiona Hawkins, Community and Events Fundraiser at Autism Wessex said; “Thank you to everyone that has taken part in this year's Big Brekkie. We are thrilled that so many people have enjoyed breakfast for a good cause! Our Information and Advice service is a lifeline to many, providing free specialist advice and support on everything from diagnosis and behaviour to housing and employment."

Fiona continues; "We would also like to say thank you to Williams Thompson Solicitors LLP, our campaign Headline Sponsor, and The Bournemouth Daily Echo, our Media Sponsor.”

Suzanne Kadziola of Williams Thompson Solicitors LLP said: “We are delighted to have worked with Autism Wessex on their Big Brekkie campaign for the third year in a row. Having hosted a breakfast event at our offices in Christchurch we know firsthand how easy and fun it is to get involved. Together we can all do our bit to raise awareness of, and support local people affected by autism."

Big Brekkie will return in April 2018 as part of our 50th anniversary celebrations so please put the date in your diary now!
